Cheyenne, Wyoming School Board Receives Charter Application

The Cheyenne school board received a charter school application and refused to let supporters of the school speak in public session. The application for Cheyenne Classical Academy is based on the successful Ridgeview Classical Academy in Fort Collins. In fact, the parent who has put the most work into the Cheyenne Classical Academy application was formerly a parent of a student at Ridgeview Classical. Due to nuances of Wyoming's charter school law, they have only a handful of charter schools and their charter law permits less autonomy than Colorado's law.
